Here's to a new year and new beginnings!

So far 2010 has been very good to me and my other half! We began the year on our first just us date in quite a while and I must say, I had a blast! I guess there is something to be said for the old stand by dinner and a movie date after all, but only in the right company. And by the way, Sherlock Holmes is truely a great piece of art on many levels! Clever, witty and action packed for the men in our lives! Honestly I thought I wouldn't like it but have been proven wrong! I just may have to add it to my collection! So after ringing in the new year with a great piece of cinematography, I proceeded to spend the entire first day of the year laying on the couch doing absolutely nothing apart from being mesmerized by the American Idol marathon. I think it is essential to have those mindless effortless days once in a while to recharge my batteries. The day of laziness was then followed by a day of accomplishment and maybe too much accomplishment according to my sore back! We spent the majority of the day at my Grandparents house helping to build a raku kiln for my Mom. Well if I am being honest I just watched and tried to stay warm and out of the way and took every opportunity to help my Grandma with the horses. (I really miss horses and the freedom and contentment they have always filled me with) I am very excited to see the horse hair pieces that come from this contraption that involves an old barrel, insulation, propane and a thermometer. I hope to add some unique pieces to our new home very soon Mom! Then it was back to the house to pack up our room which made my Mom sad. Gotta get back to work my lunch break was done a while ago write more later....

Sorry for the random break! I have been very busy and was unable to finish this entry until now. I am really going to miss my Mom now that (as of two days from now) we will be 40 miles away. But it is just something that needs to happen. My husband and I need to have our own space and feel like we have truly made it, as I feel we have! Honestly, I don't really remember what else I was going to say in this entry so I will move on to the next...
