Guardian angels...
I have always believed that I have an army of guardian angels surrounding me at all times and if you know me, you know that to be a likely possibility but yesterday I got to meet one of them face to face. I left work a little after quitting time and made it about 5 miles down the highway and my car started jumping around as if I had a flat tire. But the odd thing was that it was not leaning at all and it was still driving fairly well. So I got off of the highway and made my way to the nearest parking lot and got out to assess the situation. I fully expected a very unshapely tire and rim and, to my surprise there appeared to be nothing wrong with any of my tires apart from all of them being low on air pressure due to the recent cold snap. After much coercion from my husband (whom I had on the phone) I decided to drive half a block down the street to the gas station and get help there. When I started to pull away a man that had run out of gas and was sharing my parking lot refuge flagged me down and told me that I had a bubble in my tire. He took a look at it for me and sure enough there was a huge bubble on the inside of the tire that I must have been parked on prior because it was pretty hard to miss. So the man let me know that he was going to put some more gas in his truck and he would be right back to change my tire for me. And that he did. What a great guy to stop in the middle of his dilemma to help me with mine. I am so grateful to him because it would have been very challenging to change the tire on my own as I was in three in heals and a pencil skirt from work! Furthermore, he was late to pick up his son from school and his wife was already upset with him for running late. None the less he was very patient and kind and assured me that ten minutes was not going to make much of a difference. Thank God for people like him with big hearts! God really uses them. What are the odds that he would run out of gas stranding him at the exact spot that I needed him when no one else would (or could) help. Coincidence? I think not! Thank you Lord for always watching out for me come what may. You truly work in amazing ways and today it was through a gentleman named Alton. Thank you so very much Alton! I hope you are blessed though out your life for your kind heart and willingness to help.

Here's to a new year and new beginnings!
So far 2010 has been very good to me and my other half! We began the year on our first just us date in quite a while and I must say, I had a blast! I guess there is something to be said for the old stand by dinner and a movie date after all, but only in the right company. And by the way, Sherlock Holmes is truely a great piece of art on many levels! Clever, witty and action packed for the men in our lives! Honestly I thought I wouldn't like it but have been proven wrong! I just may have to add it to my collection! So after ringing in the new year with a great piece of cinematography, I proceeded to spend the entire first day of the year laying on the couch doing absolutely nothing apart from being mesmerized by the American Idol marathon. I think it is essential to have those mindless effortless days once in a while to recharge my batteries. The day of laziness was then followed by a day of accomplishment and maybe too much accomplishment according to my sore back! We spent the majority of the day at my Grandparents house helping to build a raku kiln for my Mom. Well if I am being honest I just watched and tried to stay warm and out of the way and took every opportunity to help my Grandma with the horses. (I really miss horses and the freedom and contentment they have always filled me with) I am very excited to see the horse hair pieces that come from this contraption that involves an old barrel, insulation, propane and a thermometer. I hope to add some unique pieces to our new home very soon Mom! Then it was back to the house to pack up our room which made my Mom sad. Gotta get back to work my lunch break was done a while ago write more later....
Sorry for the random break! I have been very busy and was unable to finish this entry until now. I am really going to miss my Mom now that (as of two days from now) we will be 40 miles away. But it is just something that needs to happen. My husband and I need to have our own space and feel like we have truly made it, as I feel we have! Honestly, I don't really remember what else I was going to say in this entry so I will move on to the next...
